Kamala Harris Campaigns Across Nevada Ahead Of Election Day

Donald Trump and his campaign are still drowning in the fallout from his big rally at Madison Square Garden, which turned into an impromptu Klan-ish comedy hour during which MAGA comedian Tony Hinchcliffe told a slew of racist jokes, including the one where he called Puerto Rico a “floating island of garbage.” (I mean, he also said he and his “only” Black friend carved “watermelons” together for Halloween, and that Latinos “love making babies,” hate “pulling out” and “come inside, just like they did to our country” — but people really focused in on the “island of garbage” line.)

Now, joining the chorus of people who have been condemning the rally is none other than Jennifer Lopez, who said Trump’s rally offended “every Latino in this country.”

“At Madison Square Garden, he reminded us who he really is and how he really feels,” Lopez said of Trump during a Kamala Harris rally in Las Vegas on Thursday, according to CNN. “It wasn’t just Puerto Ricans who were offended that day, OK? It was every Latino in this country, it was humanity and anyone of decent character.”

“This is our country, too,” the Money Train actress went on to say before fighting back tears while, but not apologizing for it.

“You know what? We should be emotional. We should be upset. We should be scared and outraged. We should. Our pain matters. We matter,” Lopez said. “Your voice and your vote matters.”

It’s almost ironic that Hinchcliffe’s set is causing Trump so much grief, considering that Trump himself has been saying so much worse about Black and Latino migrants throughout his abysmal and brazenly bigoted campaign.

Still, it’s great to see Latino artists coming together immediately and sending the message that MAGA racism will not be tolerated.

Also, the MSG incident basically handed Harris’ campaign an easy anti-Trump attack on a silver platter.

From CNN:

Bad Bunny, one of the world’s biggest Latin music stars, shared Harris’ platform for Puerto Rico on social media on Sunday. And reggaeton star Nicky Jam, who had previously appeared onstage with Trump, withdrew his endorsement of the former president, saying, “Puerto Rico should be respected.”

Trump has long sought to make inroads with Black and Latino men. In the critical swing state of Pennsylvania, in particular, a sizable portion of the rapidly growing Latino population is of Puerto Rican heritage.

Harris’ campaign on Thursday launched a Spanish-language ad, aimed at reaching Latino voters, that highlighted comedian Tony Hinchcliffe’s remark at the Trump rally.

“Puerto Rico is an island of scientists, poets, educators, stars and heroes,” the narrator of the ad says in Spanish. “We’re not trash, we’re more.”

Trash is what’s trying to get himself reelected into the White House. Get out and vote, y’all!
