Tomball Teen Charged with Fatal Shooting of Younger Brother

TOMBALL — A 17-year-old Tomball teen tragically shot and killed his 16-year-old brother early Monday morning, according to the Harris Country Sheriff’s Office. The shooting occurred before 3:30 a.m. in the Stoney Creek subdivision.
Six teens between the ages of 16 and 17 were in a barn behind a home drinking alcohol and mishandling a firearm before it discharged, striking the brother of the 17-year-old that was handling the weapon. The teenagers reportedly attempted first aid and immediately phoned police, who responded to the scene at 3:30 a.m. By the time police arrived, they found the 16-year-old with a gunshot wound to the chest, who was pronounced dead at the scene. The teens’ parents weren’t home at the time of the shooting.
The 17-year-old faces charges related to the fatal shooting of his younger brother, according to Fox 26 Houston. Currently the parents of the teens are not facing charges.
The home of the teens has multiple firearms, according to KHOU 11. Investigators are determining how the teens gained access to the firearm involved in the tragic shooting.
