Inductees for the 2025 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame class have been announced, with this year’s group featured a more rock-centric selection. The inductees were revealed Sunday during the “Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Night” episode of American Idol.

The original group consisted of 14 nominees, narrowed down to seven set for induction. The seven artists whose names will been enshrined in the music hall of fame forever are classic rock band Bad Company, rock and roller Chubby Checker, late English singer Joe Cocker, new wave singer and actress Cyndi Lauper, hip-hop duo Outkast, alternative rock band Soundgarden and rock duo the White Stripes.

The seven artists who were not selected for induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame include first-time nominees the Black Crowes, Billy Idol, Maná and Phish. Also not selected for induction were Mariah Carey and Oasis, who were both nominated for the first time in 2024, while 2023 nominee Joy Division/New Order was also not selected. Phish won the fan vote with nearly 330,000 votes – close to 50,000 more than second-place Bad Company. Despite winning the fan vote, selection for induction is never guaranteed.

The induction of the 2025 class will air live on Nov. 8 from the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles on Disney+, and available for streaming on Hulu on Nov. 9. An abbreviated version of the ceremony will air on ABC at a to-be-announced date.
