Diddy Sets Launch Date For New Cable Network, Revolt TV

Diddy can now add television network owner to his resume.

The rapper, fashion designer and overall entrepreneur will launch his new lifestyle cable network, Revolt, in July.

According to reports, “the revolution” will be distributed through Comcast and feature art, music, fashion, culture and film content for an African-American audience.

The hip-hop mogul said this is “the first channel created entirely from the ground up in this new era of social media.”

“We’re building this platform for artists to reach an extraordinary number of people in a completely different way,” he said. “Revolt will be live, like all great moments in television history.”

“Had I known [creating a network] was this difficult, I might have done something else,” Winfrey said during an interview with her bestfriend Gayle King. “If I knew then what I know now, I might have made different choices.”

She added, “If I were writing a book about it, I could call the book 101 Mistakes.”

2. You must make difficult cutback decisions. Here Oprah discusses her very public decision to cancel The Rosie O’Donnell Show and lay off 30 employees.

“I knew from the time I stepped in as CEO, the only way through is that you’re either going to have to end it, or you’re going to have to make some cutbacks now so you’ll be able to go forward,” said during a clip of her documentary “Oprah Builds a Network.”

3. Despite your previous accomplishments, there will be people who are just looking for you to fail.

“Part of my own expectation was, ‘You’ve had 25 years of success; people will leverage that,’ ” she said during an interview with the Hollywood Reporter.

“I certainly did not expect the velocity of schadenfreude — meaning people sort of lying in wait for you to fail, or make a mistake,” she added. “The fact that no matter what you’ve accomplished, that you’re still susceptible to that kind of schadenfreude, really was really very helpful to me.”

4. Never loose that unwavering faith in your own vision.

“First of all, I would be happy in my garden under the tree with my dogs, reading a book. I’d be happy with doing that, as Stedman [Graham] says, ‘about two weeks,’ because I’m a very driven person,” Winfrey shared. “Also, I believe that I am here to fulfill a calling…I will die in the midst of doing what I love to do. And that is using my voice and using my life to try to inspire other people to live the best of theirs.”

“There’s no way you can accomplish anything of any value without having a challenge,” she said during an appearance on CBS This Morning. ”Nobody rides into anything. Nobody.”
