WOW! 2014 has been an amazing year. I’ve talked to many different artists, authors and founders of organizations, so it’s hard to decide on which have been the best convos! Before we get into the list…I DO want to recognize newcomer Sebastian Mikael for stating that he felt like he was on the couch with Oprah during my interview. LOL I take that as a HUGE compliment. I wish I could go back and tell you how much fun I had with everyone I chatted with this year…but we don’t have that kind of time, so I’ll walk you through four of my favorite ones. ENJOY.
#4: Sevyn Streeter
This was my very first interview that I did for 97.9 The Box! I started off as an intern…then a promotions tech…and eventually became an on-air personality. When I found out that my boss gave me the okay to sit down with Sevyn Streeter in January, I couldn’t contain my excitement! Talking and connecting with people is one of my favorite parts of my job. This was the day when I felt like I had made it, because I was getting paid to do what I love doing. The feeling was even more rewarding because Sevyn is one of my favorite songwriters. Watch my conversation with Ms. Streeter here:

#3: Tony Royster Jr. (Jay Z’s Drummer)
Everybody and their mama knows that Beyoncé is my favorite artist of all time, so I felt like The Queen Bey was definitely with us (in spirit) for this conversation with her hubby’s drummer! lol To get a behind-the-scenes look at how Tony prepared for The On The Run Tour is a moment that I hope I never forget. Watch it here:

#2: “Diamond In The Dugout” With Bun B & Fat Joe On The Houston Astros Field
As if talking with the Trill OG (Bun B) wasn’t enough, it felt even more amazing to do it on the grounds of my city’s baseball park. On top of that…I caught Fat Joe and a television crew filming something special; find out what it was below:
#1: The Walls Group
These kids made me fall in love with them. I felt like I was just having fun with my cousins or brothers and sisters. I really gravitated to this group that Kirk Franklin discovered because they are a group of young people who are super successful, positive and follow the word of God. They are a very few of us who carry that type of light, so to be in their presence…was a blessing. And it helped that they were very welcoming, loving and energetic too!
