It feels dope to be able to say that I was at a major event that’s going down in the history books. I learned a lot out in DC last weekend for Justice Or Else (the 20th Anniversary of the Million Man March). On Facebook/instagram/twitter/snapchat, I saw a lot of people expressing their concern and frustrations on why it wasn’t shown in mass media. I agree that it should of been in the headlines, considering the fact that it was a peaceful rally with thousands (possibly over a million) of people coming together from all parts of the country to seek change. There were a lot of things covered during Minister Louis Farrakhan’s speech on 10/10/15, but here are 4 of the main things we can do that could help the government see that Black Lives Matter.
- Stop Calling Women The “B” Word – If other races see us treating our people as trash, they will think that it’s okay to do the same. I don’t care if you think it’s a term of endearment or not. If you want change like you claim to want it, then follow these directions. Period.
- Take the Santa out of Christmas, and put the Jesus back in it – America makes billions off of us spending money during the holidays. If we team up and take a pause for the cause then it will definitely show the country who has the real power. So instead of buying gifts for the kids this year, sit them down… have a healthy meal…and talk to them about family and the real reason for the season. It’s one minor sacrifice.
- Eat To Live, Don’t Live To Eat – Be apart of the plan to buy our own acres of land and animals to make our own bread, milk and grow our own beans so we don’t have to eat what is being fed to us. There is speculation that the government is putting things into our food that does nothing but tear down our bodies.
- Quit the Black On Black Crime – How are we going to expect others to care about our people when we act as if we don’t even care about them. Minister Farrakhan is asking for 10,000 Men to step forward and go into our communities to get this message to the troubled ones that need to hear it.
These four points are actually great ideas. But what’s sad is I don’t think our people our obedient and disciplined enough to come to together to put this stuff into action. I’m up for the challenge. Are you?
