BREAKING: Texans Release Foster
BREAKING: Texans To Release Foster
One of the greatest running backs the Houston Texans has ever had is set to be released, According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Arian Foster, Â the franchise’s all-time leader in rushing yards, rushing touchdowns, yards per game and total scoring for a non-kicker, will no longer be on the roster.
Mike McCartney, Arian’s agent, tweeted this morning:
What a great RUN @ArianFoster had with the @HoustonTexans! Thanks to the Texans & I’m personally excited what lies ahead for Arian!

Foster, who hasn’t completed a full 16-game season since 2012, is coming off a torn Achilles and groin injury from last season. Â He’s certainly had up-and-downs with injuries over the years.

His best season was in 2010 when he had 1,616 yards and 16 touchdowns. Â In 2014, Arian had an average of 4.8 yards per carry and put up 1,246 yards with eight touchdowns.
Last year was rough. Â Foster had 63 carries for 163 yards and 2.6 yards per carry average and one touchdown in four games played.
Just imagine, in 2009, Texans gave an undrafted RB a $7,500 signing bonus and then Foster gave them more rushing TDS plus yards than anyone in franchise history.
How soon we forget. Â The game ain’t always sweet.
