Power Season 3, Episode 302 "It's Never Over" Recap

elp looks like Ghost isn’t as dead as we thought he was! Episode 2 of season 3 opens up with Ghost tossing and turning next to his conveniently naked boo Angela. Ghost clearly has Lobos on the brain after finding out for sure that he is not dead. Ghost is a very smart guy so he surely knows that some form of revenge is coming his way and his family and anyone close to him is in danger.

With knowledge of Lobos fate finally revealed, Ghost meets up with his star attorney Proctor and asks him to help deliver a message to him.

Proctor still believes Lobos is dead, but Ghost convinces him otherwise carefully without revealing Angela told him. Ghost knows Proctor has powerful connections and he can find out the location of the dangerous drug lord for him.

On the legal front the Angela and Lobos insider Mike are discussing Jefe’s John Doe prosecution case.

Mike is doing his best to stall and deflect in Lobos favor so he can help get his boss out of trouble. Angela of course always gets her man literally and figuratively and is woman on a mission. She makes a request that she needs the files from the cases against Lobos in Texas and California which will help their case immensely. Mike’s sneaky self was reluctant at first trying to change her mind on the idea. Realizing that Angela will not give on the idea he eventually agrees to get the files himself pointing out that the request will be filed quicker if he does it.You ain’t low Mike, we onto you bruh.

 With one obstacle avoided Mike immediately bumps into another one though and this time it’s annoying ass Saxe.

Saxe fills Mike in on his bright idea to solve the mystery of who actually attacked Lobos in custody. Mike knows this is not good if the identity of the assassin is revealed and again tries to deflect.

Saxe makes a good point and Mike realizes that he’s not going to be able to change Saxe’s mind on this. He gives Saxe his blessing on the hope that Saxe is not smart enough to discover anything pertinent that will implicate his boss any further calling the hunt “a waste of time”.

As you can see Lobos has everyone on their toes even behind bars. Ghost is still a worried mess and makes a call to his inside guy.

Ghost eloquently in Spanish informs the assassin that if in fact Lobos is still in that building that he has to find a way to get in there. With that out-of-the-way James hits up Tasha via text telling her “I need to see you”. Oh you know something is about to go down when you get those dreaded “I need to see you” texts from the ex.

Now what’s our favorite white drug dealing thug up too? Well he’s out with our favorite character (sarcastic voice) Holly searching for their dead dog Belle. 

We still honestly wish it was her ass and not the dog who had to sacrifice its life but whatever. While Holly is out posting flyers, Tommy finally checks the message he received from Ghost last episode. Holly comes back into the car and asks him who was that and Tommy quickly tells her nobody.

Tommy is trying his best to keep up this lie about Belle to keep Holly calm. He then offers to replace Belle with another dog, Holly wasn’t here for it at all. She compares Tommy buying her another dog to Tommy dying and her having sex with another guy.

Clearly Bell meant the world to Holly and Tommy doesn’t really realize that but that comparison Holly used was dumb as hell.

Now that scene is over with bootleg Ghost and Tasha it’s time we check in the real version. Ghost immediately thanks Tasha for letting him take the kids to Angela’s house. 

Tasha immediately shuts that down and tells him that she didn’t do for him but for the kids. Tasha explains she did it because she doesn’t want them to live without their father in their lives. She quickly asks why Ghost is really in her presence and he presents her with a check for Tommy. Being that he can’t get in contact with his former partner/friend he asks if Tasha can deliver the check for him.The check represents all of the business Ghost and Tommy had together that are now closed. Ghost tells Tasha once he gets the check they are officially done with each other and he is out of the game. Tasha also expresses the fact that Tommy want’s nothing to do with her labeling herself “collateral damage” from their fallout. She reluctantly agrees to deliver the check for the Ghost.

Tommy is learning quick fast being the boss isn’t all that it’s cracked up to be. Julio asks Tommy why the product shipments from Lobos are so light?

Tommy does his best to explain why the shipments are so light to Julio. Julio then comes up with the idea that maybe they should cut up the product that way it would make everyone happy. Tommy was like:

Still obviously mad Julio went to his former friend now enemy Ghost, Tommy quickly lets Julio know that wouldn’t be a good look for business. Tommy lets Julio know who’s the boss and tells him to let him do the thinking.

Tasha heads to Tommy’s apartment to deliver the check on Ghost’s behalf. She is pleasantly surprised and disgusted by Holly opening the door.

Holly tries to quickly dismiss Tasha by telling her that Tommy doesn’t want nothing to do to her. That is until Tasha pulls out that check.

Holly eyes immediately widen at the sight of money and she reaches for the check. Tasha quickly pulls the check back and tells her she will find out how much the check is worth when Tommy gets it. Tasha puts the check back in her bag leaving Holly looking real salty.

Mike is secretly pressed trying to keep Lobos out of anymore trouble. He meets up with Lobos’ right-hand man Hugo to let him know exactly whats going on.

Mike asks for help in taking care of the assassin that tried to take out Lobos. Mike explains that they led people to believe that the Jemenez were behind the attack to tie up loose ends. BUT if they find out who the assassin is he can finger Ghost and Ghost will testify against Lobos. Unfortunately Hugo isn’t trying to hear it and says if that happens then Mike will be the one with the problem not Lobos. Mike basically didn’t really care for the threat and reacted like:

Mike makes his case as being a friend to Lobos but Hugo lets Mike know that:

1.He is on his own like Patti LaBelle

2.They will not help him.

3.Do his job or there will be no options left for him.

Tasha links with her home girl LaKeisha for some much-needed girl talk. She spills the tea on her current situation with Ghost, the kids and Angela.

Of course LaKeisha isn’t here for Tasha allowing her kids going to Angela’s house calling her a “drive by”.

Tasha quickly emphasizes that Ghost has officially parked and that she’s only allowing this because of the kids. She jokes that if there were no kids she would have already pushed Angela down a flight of stairs.

LaKeisha then notices that Tasha is missing her wedding ring, Tasha informs her bff that she pawned it cause it was time to let go. LaKeisha immediately takes the move as an act of desperation asking if Tasha is strapped for cash and if she need a job. Tasha insists she is good for now but if she ever needed that gig she would gladly take LaKeisha up on her offer.

We catch up with James not Ghost doing his nightclub owner thing. His very attractive hostess Dominique points out that there some big spenders in the building.They also purchased numerous bottles of Effen Vodka, that’s right 50 get those plugs in.

James of course as the owner makes it his business see who these “high-rollers” are.

He introduces himself to Andy and Albee who seem like two pretentious guys, who just like to spend money. James invites them to his new club Verbatim that’s opening very soon and will have the mega popular DJ Taj spinning at the re-launch party.

The two gladly accept James invitation, keep these two in your memory banks cause we will be revisiting them later. We finally get back into the James and Andre dynamic and Dre is growing very impatient with his new boss.

Andre feels James is keeping him out of the loop and questions him about the bloody card he found in his desk. While he was inside Dre reveals to James he knows the significance of receiving one of those cards. He jumps to the conclusion that both him and James are deep trouble and wonders if that was the reason why James asked if Dre was strapped. Dre tells James that he’s down for the cause and if he needs something done to let him know and it will “get done”. James tells Andre that the only thing he wants him to do is to go down stairs and get back to work and if he needs him he will tell him.

Dre of course is not really buying it, but has no choice. I guess the revisit to the card got James thinking about Lobos again and reaches out to Tommy again.

Speaking of our guy Tommy, looks like Tasha was able to track the new boss down on behalf of her ex-husband. Tasha and Tommy meet up at a diner so Tasha can deliver the check to him.

Tommy is clearly there for one thing only and that is his money. He’s not even trying to eat any food which is quite incredible cause he’s always stuffing his face. The conversation between the two former friends gets heated very quickly. Tasha asks Tommy why does he have beef with her? He then reveals that he knows about Ghost and Tasha setting up Kanan and not telling him for 10 years. Tasha then brings up the fact that Tommy knew about Ghost dealing with Angela and didn’t tell her about it. She points out that in keeping the Kanan information from him they were doing what was best for him. Tommy didn’t receive that too well and fired back by saying that Ghost sleeping with Angela he was doing what was best for Tasha.

Welp that was all Tasha needed to hear for the meeting to end. She throws Tommy’s check at him and then points out that in both their cases Ghost was doing what was best for him.

We switch back to poor Dre who is still trying to get used to this “legit life”. Andre was tasked with helping DJ Taj set up for his set at the relaunch party of James new spot Verbatim. That tasked turned out to be very taxing for Dre.

DJ Taj turns out to be a supreme diva making a boatload of requests one being to have the DJ booth moved to the center of the dance floor. Dre tells the obnoxious jerk he will try but of course Taj is not trying to hear the word try. He proceeds to put his hands on Dre telling him to make it happen or he will not be performing there. Dre immediately looked at Taj like:

Taj clearly doesn’t know who is messing with, thankfully James walks in at the right moment before Dre does any bodily harm to the DJ for disrespecting him.

James quickly defused the situation and agrees to Taj’s ridiculous demands. Taj being the dick that he is “thanks” James and leaves and blows a kiss at Dre. Dre points out Taj’s diva tendencies to James which are but not limited to not shaking hands, a fresh quart of orange juice and his assistant holding the bottle while he drinks it. Dre hilariously asks if Taj thinks he’s Beyoncé or something?

James again tries to calm down the young firecracker and explain to him sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do.

He explains to Dre he can’t show him a gun and expect him to do what you want to do. You can clearly tell it’s going in one ear and out the other still. James then remembers he forgot to get Taj to sign the contract and runs after him. He is stopped in his tracks by a text from Proctor telling him to meet him at Truth. James then ask if Dre could handle the task for him instead. Of course Andre eager to do anything else that’s not club related asks James what’s up ? James immediately gave Dre this look:

SMH! Dre quickly gets the message though from the look on James face. Tommy in the meanwhile meets with the racist ass Koreans again. It seems they are not too happy with receiving half of the shipments they were originally promised by Tommy.

Now for some reason the head honcho speaks in Korean requiring his hot-headed son to translate most of the time in his own interpretation and then some parts in English.Tommy basically wants to know what’s the issue since he’s well aware he’s delivering half the product and taking half the money. Jae Shin clarifies his issue with the setup is that he’s not making a profit and risks losing control of his territory. Jae Shin’s son insists that maybe they should go back to their old supplier instead. Tommy quickly remedies the situation by agreeing to throw in a couple of extra kilos on the house.

Dre misses the street life dearly, so he decides to return to his old stomping grounds and links up with his old crew to see what he’s been missing.

His boys make light of his “legitimate business attire” by saying he looks like he’s about to go to court.

Dre points out that he runs three nightclubs so he’s gotta look the part. They quickly let him know he hasn’t missed a damn thing since he left. They also point out that Kanan hasn’t been seen in days but Dre quickly shrugs off that news. One of his grimey home boys brings up the idea that they should rob the club but Dre immediately shuts that idea down.

Ghost meets up with his star attorney Proctor again to get more news on Lobos.

Proctor informs Ghost that he can’t find a single trace of evidence saying that Lobos is still alive and exactly where he is. All he was able to sniff out was a death certificate stating Lobos did not survive the assassination attempt. Ghost knows he still alive but he’s trying to avoid asking Angela any questions about it.Proctor the genius he is explains that if Lobos is still breathing they’re going the John Doe prosecution route to keep him safe. Proctor knowing that Ghost was behind the attempt insists that the only way Ghost is going to find out where Lobos is by asking Angela. He tells Ghost he’s going to have to make a choice between protecting Angela or saving his own ass.

We catch back up with our favorite couple (rolls eyes) Tommy and Holly. Holly is still stressed about her missing (dead) dog Belle.

Tommy of course knows the one way to his girlfriends heart and that’s money. To cheer her up he shows her the check that Tasha gave him. Holly forgot all about that damn dog instantly, Tommy tells her he’s too busy to deposit it so Holly of course volunteers to do it. Tommy was basically like:

Tommy knows he can’t trust Holly with the cash so insist she handles something else. We are unfortunately subjected to an intimate moment between the two. While Holly is pleasing Tommy she stashes the check in her back pocket.

Once a kleptomaniac,always a kleptomaniac.

Ghost is still desperately trying to get in contact with Tommy, he leaves Julio a message telling him to tell Tommy to get in contact with him.

With that taken care of it’s back to handling things at Verbatim and the upcoming relaunch party which he thinks is about to go off without a hitch. After he sets everything up to DJ Taj’s liking and tests all the bells and whistles he finds out from Dominique that Taj isn’t going to show up. Taj put out a tweet that he will be performing at another club across the street instead of Verbatim because of Andre’s failure of getting him to sign the contract. James of course is furious and want’s Dominique to get to the bottom of it immediately and find out who owns the club across the street.

Ghost ain’t the one to play with! Both and he and Andre head over to the club to see who scooped them.

Remember the two high rollers Ghost talked too earlier in the club Albie and Andy? Yeah those two guys stole DJ Taj right from under Ghost’s nose.

Dre immediately apologizes to Ghost  for his huge screw up and says he has a DJ coming in from his hood. Ghost isn’t trying to hear that nonsense and says to Dre he might as well bring in the DJ from the corner bodega.

Ghost makes Dre feel even worse by telling him maybe if he was more worried about keeping his head in the game instead of his business this wouldn’t have happened.

Dre pleads his case stating that Taj left after sound check before he could get him to sign the contract. He also points out that he’s a hustler and this nightclub life isn’t for him. Dre of course brings up the idea that they could inflict bodily harm on the two clowns but James denounces that idea. He tells Dre no response is the best response sometimes, he wants them to wait in fear and he will get them back when they are least expecting it.

Meanwhile back at casa de Angela, she gets a surprise visit from Tasha.

Tasha stops by for a surprise inspection of the apartment before the kids come over. Tasha lays down all the ground rules when it comes to her kids and gives her approval of Angela’s “small” apartment. After the inspection is over and all of the rules have been laid out Angela thanks Tasha for allowing the kids coming over. Tasha then tells her “you wanted him, you wanted them.”

Tommy’s lady on the other hand is letting her greed get the best of her.

Against the wishes of Tommy she goes to the bank to try to deposit the check on her own. She didn’t count on the bank having to call Tommy to get permission since she didn’t remember the password to the account. Holly quickly decides not to go through with it, grabs the check and runs out of the bank.

Tasha and the kids are prepping for their one night sleepover at Angela’s house and they are not here for it.

Riq and Raina ask their mother why do they have to stay the night? Riq thinks of the whole ordeal as them being punished for their dad’s mistakes. Tasha explains to them that they their father wants them to be a part of his life and that he loves them. Raina drops the bombshell question if Tasha still loves Ghost? That question clearly opened a fresh wound.

Tasha tells the kids the their father gave her them basically saying she will forever love Ghost for that. She tells her young cubs that family is forever in a touching moment.

Holly is catching major flack from Tommy for admitting to going behind his back to deposit the check.

If its one thing you don’t do it’s mess with Tommy’s money and Holly learns that from the verbal scolding he gives her. Tommy tells her that if they are deal with each other they have to be honest with one another and no more sneaking behind each others backs.

Holly apologizes but is dead set on being able to contribute something to their partnership. Tommy asks Holly what does she want to do? Holly tells him she wants him to teach her how to move the money around. Tommy reveals he never really messed around with that and that Tasha handled all of logistics when it came to the money. Holly comes up with the idea that they should bring in Tasha to help but Tommy instantly objects to the idea. Holly makes the case that with Tasha’s help it will keep the I.R.S. off their backs and once Tasha is done showing her the ropes they can get rid of her. Tommy isn’t opposed to the idea but doesn’t approve it right away either.

Ghost meets up with Proctor again to discuss their favorite topic so far this season Lobos.

Proctor asks Ghost if he had a plan in place if he found out the location of Lobos? Ghost tells him he has an idea of course and that would be his assassin on the inside. Proctor points out that he’s a loose end that definitely has to be tied up but Ghost reassured Proctor that he doesn’t know who he is. Ghost then tells his attorney that he’s definitely worth the money.

Meanwhile Saxe pays a visit to Angela and he’s not too happy.

He accuses her of sending back key evidence he needed in his case to find out who tried to kill Lobos. Well unfortunately for Saxe we know who was behind the move and it damn sure wasn’t Angela HA! The move was perpetrated by Mike no doubt just to delay Saxe’s investigation. Angela flat-out denies making the move and she tells Saxe she wasn’t even around when the evidence was gathered. She was serving a suspension for Isabel Ruiz, Mike apologizes for accusing her and Angela in the process learns about Saxe’s plan to find the assassin who tried to kill Lobos and convincing him to flip on Jemenez so he can prosecute them. UH OH looks like Angela has some more news for James.

Speaking of James, his kids finally have arrived at his new place of residence.

Angela rushed home to break the news to him but was surprised by his kids early arrival instead. Her mood quickly shifts as she finally gets to meet all three of his kids putting her announcement on hold. She decides to go change so she can hang out with her soon to be extended family. While Angela is in the back changing it’s James turn to have a small talk with his kids about the new situation.

He tells his cubs that he knows it’s going to be hard but he wants them to give it a try. They both agree on giving Angela a shot.

Saxe is still on the case despite the setback, but he’s definitely going to get a huge break that he needs to solve it.

He’s watching the surveillance footage of Lobos getting stabbed by the assassin. He notices the tattoo on the back of the assassins neck and runs it through the database. Looks like he’s going to find his man.

Tommy meets with the unknown guy who hit up via text. Before he talks to him he does a bump of coke to take the edge off I guess.

We learn that the person Tommy is meeting up with is none other Lobos right hand man on the outside Hugo.High on the booger sugar Tommy immediately presses him asking him he was the guy that broke into his house and killed Belle.

Of course Tommy didn’t frighten him one bit and he continued to issue threats in Spanish while Tommy yoked him up. Clear heads finally prevail and the two finally get to talking, he admits to Tommy that he was inside his apartment. He admits to killing Belle asking Tommy if he got the message, Tommy lets him know that the message was received. Hugo then ask what is Tommy doing to take care of their Ghost problem and Tommy informs them that Ghost wants to meet up. Tommy takes the opportunity to express to Hugo that the shipment was light, Hugo promises the next shipment will be in full.

Looks like Saxe wasn’t as dumb as Mike thought as he just found his guy.

Saxe shows him the picture of the guy and tells Mike he’s going to pay him a visit that night. He ask’s Mike if he wants to come and Mike declines of course. Saxe goes on his merry way, Mike quickly dials up Hugo cause now Lobos has a problem. Mike’s phone call interrupts the meeting between Tommy and Hugo, but not before Tommy tells Hugo they will have a talk about Belle.

The meeting ends but now Tommy has to make a move on Ghost or him and Holly will die.

We head back to Angela’s house where the kids are getting to know her.

The Q&A session starts off comfortably with the Raina asking Angela what kind of lawyer she is. Angela explains to the young St.Patrick that she is a prosecutor and she puts bad guys in jail. Oh the irony knowing she shares a bed with one every night.

Riq really makes things interesting during the Q&A when he asks how did they meet? James tells Riq they met in high school. Then Riq counters with another question asking if that was before James met Tasha? Angela’s reaction to Riq’s question was pretty much:

Angela deflects from Riq’s question by giving him a video game she bought for him. James and Riq start to play to the game together, their brief father and son moment is interrupted by a very important phone call. James definitely has to take this call, he asks Angela to fill in for him and she reluctantly agrees.

While Angela does her best to bond with Riq, Ghost finally got Tommy to reach out to him. Ghost asks Tommy if he got the check and if it’s cool, Tommy quickly shuts down the small talk and asks him what does he want? Ghost tells him that he wants to talk face to face. Tommy agrees and tells Ghost to meet him at Brooklyn Bridge park NOW. Ghost has no idea what he’s walking into, or does he?

Back at the St.Patrick’s residence Tasha is going through the motions.

Looks like the idea of Ghost no longer being in her life and that her kids are not there with her have her all emotional. This scene honestly looked like a Mary J.Blige music video.

Ghost makes and haste and heads to Brooklyn Bridge Park to meet up with Tommy.

We are pretty confused as to why Ghost needed to throw on a suit to meet Tommy. Well anyway we knew this whole thing was setup for Tommy just to kill Ghost to fulfill his obligation to Lobos. While Ghost patiently waits for Tommy to show, Tommy waits in the shadows for the perfect moment.

Tommy pulls out his gun and equips it with a silencer, he has Ghost dead in his sights. Ghost is eerily real calm but has no idea that Tommy is behind him with a gun pointed it him.

Fortunately for Ghost, Tommy can’t bring himself to cancel Christmas on his brother and puts the gun down. Looks like one of my predictions about Tommy was dead on, I honestly believe Ghost knew Tommy was there though. Tommy sends a text to Ghost telling him something came up and he’s not gonna show up.

Back at Angela’s house things seem to be going well between her and the kids.

Raina helps her deal with the dishes while Riq is chilling and then asks to go to the bathroom a.k.a be nosy. Raina and Angela seem to be getting along well very well.

Saxe is ready to meet up with the guy who attempted to take out Lobos as he looks to solve the case.

While being escorted to the meeting room where the assassin is being held for questioning an alarm goes off. The guard has no idea what’s going on and tells Saxe to stay close. It looks like someone (most likely Mike) got to the assassin before Saxe could and had him viciously killed.

Welp so much for that lead, you can’t blame Angela for this one though Saxe.

Now remember when we said Riq went to the bathroom? Well he somehow ends up in Angela’s bedroom and decides to look around.

He goes through Angela’s closet and discovers her bag and opens and finds her handgun.

Now what in the hell does he want with that? Lord this is the last thing James needs to worry about now that things seem to be civil between him and Tasha.

Tommy is officially off his rocker after failing to complete his task in taking out Ghost. He proceeds to go on a serious coke binge.

One of his henchman makes the mistake of calling him out for snorting up all the product. I mean he’s right, Tommy clearly hasn’t heard the “Ten Crack Commandments” cause rule #4 “never get high, on your own supply. Tommy clearly high as a kite beats the living daylight out of the poor guy and then looks at Julio and tells him it should have been him on the receiving end of that beating.

Back at Angela’s crib she is clearly worried that James is going back to his old ways.

The signs are all pointing to yes especially after his random meeting he had to leave them for. Saxe texts her informing of her that the assassin is dead. Her brain is clearly wandering all over the place as James finally comes back home. Her happy home might be falling apart as fast as it was coming together.

Poor Tommy is just an absolute mess now.

Holly finds him in tears sitting the window holding his gun. He explains to Holly what happened to Belle and their lives are in danger because he couldn’t kill Ghost. After admitting everything Holly tells him she understands. She gives him the gun back and puts some renewed vigor back into him by telling Tommy to kill Ghost for her, he gladly accepts the challenge. Their moment is interrupted by a knock on the door, Holly tells Tommy she made a call that she should have checked with Tommy about first. So much for that trust conversation they had earlier. Holly goes to open the door to reveal this person on the other side:

Yup TASHA, we are 2 for 2 with the predictions. She agrees to help them with their money laundering issues and show Holly the ropes. Oh Tasha smh!
