Before we jump into this recap let me just start off by saying this (takes deep breath)… THIS WAS THE BEST EPISODE OF POWER EVER! Courtney A.Kemp and her amazing team of writers have totally outdone themselves with this episode! Now that I’m done with that let’s get into episode 305 which is accurately titled “Help Me” cause I needed help after watching it.
Episode 305 starts off with Tommy who is clearly going through it after the assassination attempt on his life by the Koreans last episode that failed thanks to Ghost (he doesn’t know that yet).
Tommy is super paranoid now cause he’s not sure if it was Lobos who called in the hit on him. His paranoid moment is interrupted by his annoying ass girlfriend Holly who still believes it is Lobos though.
Even after Tommy makes sense of it explaining to her why he’s not sure if it was Lobos she is still adamant that it is and that he must kill Ghost. She tells the poor tortured soul at this point that they HAVE to do this and they will do it together in order to stay alive and not suffer the same fate as their poor dog. Ghost sends Tommy a text, Holly quickly stops Tommy from looking at it and tells him they are not leaving the apartment till they come up with a way to kill Ghost. Unfortunately Tommy doesn’t know she has already taken care of that.
Speaking of Ghost he’s trying to smooth things over with Angela the best way he knows how…
Yes that’s right new week, another sex scene don’t act like y’all are shocked by these things now. Angela’s head is clearly not in the moment and Ghost quickly picks up on it and asks her what’s wrong. Angela is still worried about their relationship and the”obstacles” they face if you want to be specific, Riq hating her , Paz hating Ghost and the fact that he’s still married.
All Ghost can do is listen in silence, the conversation is interrupted by text to Angela’s phone from her job telling her to come in immediately. The strategy meeting for Ruiz has been pushed up and Angela has to get there a.s.a.p.
Speaking of Ruiz one particular person is not happy that he’s back in town and that is Lobos.
Lobos is extremely worried and lets Mike know it! Mike informs Lobos that Ruiz will be brought to the Federal Building for questioning. Lobos immediately suggests that Mike somehow get Hugo in there to get rid of Ruiz but Mike quickly shoots that idea down. Mike explains to his boss how extremely hard it will be to get Hugo in and let alone out of the building. Mike tells Lobos that they just can’t risk the unnecessary attention on the both of them at the moment. Lobos is growing very impatient with Mike and threatens to send Hugo to either kill him or his daughter first.
Our favorite attorney Proctor is back, and gets a call from Ghost.
It would seem what Angela said resonated with Ghost and looks like he’s trying to fix things in his new home. Ghost asks Proctor to get some separation papers ready, looks like Ghost is ready to start distancing himself away from Tasha one step at a time. Proctor tries to warn Ghost but he lets him know that it’s just separation for now, not a divorce. This is news that should definitely have Angela like:
Speaking of Angela she goes to pay a visit to her old flame now nemesis Greg.
Strictly there to defend her man’s honor Angela tries her best to convince Greg to give up his witch hunt for Ghost and just focus on Lobos. Of course Greg isn’t going to do that cause deep down inside he’s still hurt about losing Angela to him and this is the best way to get back at him.
Riq is still on suspension for bringing Angela’s gun to school. Tasha tells her son that his dad is there to pick him up to hang with him for the day.
Back in the day that would be exciting news for the Tariq but he’s not really feeling his dad at the moment. Tasha explains to Riq that his dad is really trying to make things work and that he should try too. Riq agrees but he lets her know that he really doesn’t want too. Poor Ghost hears everything from the hallway and I’m sure it was just eating away at his heart to hear his son say that.
The case against Lobos is picking up steam and Mike is looking extremely nervous now that Ruiz is back in town.
Angela explain to their boss that their case against Lobos is moving forward and suggests that the priority should be just on him. Mike of course wants more than that!
He suggests that they also make Ruiz give up the whole operation that includes Ghost and Tommy as well. Of course that only makes matters worse for both Mike and Angela. The boss of course agrees with Greg’s approach to the case, Mike and Angela were both looking like:
Holly is still doing her best to try to convince Tommy to take out Ghost.
Holly clearly doesn’t know how this life of crime thing works and ridiculously suggests that Tommy should just walk up to Ghost and put a bullet in his head. Tommy (he doesn’t want to do it) shuts that idea down basically because he would get caught if he went out and just shot Ghost in broad daylight. The discussion is interrupted by a loud knock on the door. Who could it be?
Basically the last person on the planet Tommy wants to see shows up on his doorstep… his mom! Much to his dismay Tommy asks why is his mom is there and she points out that mortgage is past-due on her house and she had no choice since he handles that. Tommy quickly tells her that he will get Tasha on the phone and she will write up some checks but not before she notices the bullet wound on his arm.
Kate then asks if both him and Ghost took care of the person that did to him, Tommy tells her no and lets her know that he doesn’t rock with Ghost no more. Kate eventually meets Holly and Tommy introduces the two to each other. Kate is not here for Holly at all and even notices she is wearing her mother’s ring. Kate is immediately not fond of Holly at all.

Ghost decides that a good way to bond with his son is to take him to place of business the club.
He gives Riq an envelope containing court-side seats to the basketball game but he quickly snatches them back telling Riq he intended on them being a gift but due to Riq’s actions he’s going to have to earn them instead.
Dre greets the both of them and Ghost tells Riq to help Dre unload the alcohol shipment which will serve as his job to earn his tickets. Dre doesn’t look all that excited about it but he takes Riq to the bar to get to work.
Proctor is still in the Federal Building and makes a startling discovery.
The building is being cleared of all non-essential personnel to make way for a high-value federal witness. Proctor using his keen senses bribes the security guard to hold the elevator door so he can see who it is. Proctor discovers the witness is none other than Ruiz being escorted by Angela.
Speaking of Angela, realizing whats at stake here she knows she has to be in that room while Greg and Saxe interrogate Ruiz. Before she can set foot in there she responds to a text from Jamie asking her to stop by the club because he has something to show her. She tells him she will try but doesn’t make any promises, so proceeds to go into the room and is stopped by her boss.
He tells Angela that she should get the ball rolling by starting pre-trial motions and jury selection. He tells her to walk with him so they can discuss what exactly what he wants done. Uh oh looks like she can’t keep an eye on Greg and Saxe.
Greg and Saxe have Ruiz all to themselves with the presence of his lawyer.
They make their pitch to Ruiz handing him two folders with containing details of the deal they are will to reach with him. Ruiz opens the folder skims over it and was like:
Ruiz was not impressed with the offer.
He quickly points out that wasn’t the deal they originally agreed upon as they now want him to give up the whole operation not just Lobos as they initially agreed. They hit a stalemate as Ruiz’s lawyer asks to be left alone with his client.
Proctor catches up with Ghost at Truth and delivers him some bad news.
Proctor tells Ghost that he saw Ruiz at the Federal Building and that Angela was with him. Proctor asks if Angela told him about Ruiz being back in town Ghost tells him no.
Visibly upset that Angela hasn’t come to him with that information, Proctor has him second guessing his relationship with her.
Before Proctor leaves he hands Ghost the separation papers he asked for, hmmmm Ghost thinks twice about showing these to Angela now after the news Proctor just told him.
Riq and Dre have a nice little conversation while stocking up the bar in the club.
Riq tells Dre that he got suspended from school, Dre reveals even he got in trouble at school. Dre tells Riq wanting to do better for his daughter is the reason he is that club. Riq asked him did he know Shawn and Dre tells him he did and he’s met him a few times. Riq tells Dre that he thinks his father didn’t care when Shawn died and Dre comes to the defense of Ghost saying he did.He tell’s Riq that Ghost took Shawn’s death very hard when he found out about it.
Holly is on pins and needles and the Jamaicans aren’t helping either.
The Jamaicans are ready to do the job and hit up Holly requesting an address as to where they can find Ghost? Tommy’s mom is still at the apartment and requests a pick me up from her own son Tommy.
‘Super weird family!
In a very strange scene Tommy and his mom proceed to partake in some booger sugar (cocaine) together . Holly is just watching like:
Tommy and Kate ask Holly if she wants a hit and she turns it down for obvious reasons only known to us and Tasha. Kate asks Holly how did she meet her son and Holly tells her she met him when she worked at the club. Kate tells her that messing with the boss is always the way to go when you don’t want to work anymore.
The cocaine binge is interrupted by a knock on the door, Tommy already on edge picks up his gun to check who is at the door.
Tasha stops by to deliver the checks Tommy asked for. She is surprised to see Tommy’s mom is there at the apartment.
Kate greets Tasha with cocaine residue still on her nose and all.
Kate asks Tasha how is everything with Ghost and Tasha tells her that she doesn’t see much of him anymore and that Ghost moved out. Tasha is in a rush so she gets Tommy to sign the checks and then tries to get Kate to leave with her but she’s too hungry at the moment and refuses to leave. Kate and Tommy head to the kitchen to see what Tommy has to eat leaving Tasha and Holly to talk.
Holly brings up the fact that Kate and Tommy does blow together and Tasha says well this is Kate we are talking about. Tasha then says wait till she finds out about the baby and Holly was like:
Holly quickly deflects and apologizes to Tasha for Kate bringing up Ghost. Holly then gets Tasha to tell her where exactly Ghost is by asking her where is he? Tasha tells Holly that Ghost is at the club as usual planning for a party. Now she has the location to send to the Jamaicans to carry out the hit.
Greg gets his one on one time with Ruiz and tries to make his power move.
It took some scare tactics on Greg’s part but he is able to convince Ruiz to take his deal and give up the whole operation. This is not looking good for Ghost at all!
Ghost meats with his new head of security Dean to talk about his personal detail he requested.
Dean apologizes to Ghost for losing sight of him the other night (he actually didn’t) at the club. Ghost tells him not to worry about it as he went out to get some fresh air (save Tommy’s ass). Ghost then tells Dean he will no longer need a personal detail as the threat is gone and that him and his men will only concentrate on the clubs. Dean agrees of course.
Ghost then shifts his focus on Riq who is occupied in the DJ booth. Ghost sees a perfect opportunity to have a much-needed conversation with his son.
Ghost breaks the ice by showing his son he officially joined “the Twitter”. Riq immediately laughs at his dad for sounding old and corrects him. Ghost finally gets serious and tells Riq to talk to him and tell him what’s wrong and why did he take Angela’s gun? Riq opens up and tells him that he’s mad at his dad for the way he left the family and moving in with Angela. Ghost mans up to his son and apologizes for his actions.
A simple I’m sorry was all Riq needed as he embraced his dad and gives him a hug. You can clearly see he misses his dad being home.
Mike has a lot to worry about, he is losing control on this case and his boss is really close to being put away forever and that’s definitely not a good look for him or his family.
The gang learns that Ruiz is coming back to talk and spill the beans thanks to a little coercing from Greg, Their boss also announces that he wants Ruiz transferred to D.C.immediately, Mike immediately jumps on it.
Mike leaves the meeting with a slight grin on his face as he sees a clear opening to help his secret boss Lobos escape. Angela and everyone else leave the office after hearing the news leaving just Saxe and Greg to talk. Saxe closes the door and immediately asks Greg what did he do?
Angela wastes no time and runs to go see Ghost following the meeting, she doesn’t know that Ghost knows what’s going on with Ruiz already.
Angela tells Ghost that he may need to lawyer up, we already know Ghost has a good one of those in Proctor. He asks Angela if she was ever gonna tell him about Ruiz ? Angela counters his question wondering how in the hell did he know about Ruiz? Ghost answers her question by telling her he learned about Ruiz from someone but unfortunately it wasn’t her.
Ghost explains to her that he got rid of Ruiz to help the both of them and now he’s back and he doesn’t know if he can trust Angela anymore.
Ghost then tells her to take care of it or he’s going to have to do it himself and we all know he’s pretty good when it comes to making people permanently disappear.
There was only one time he messed up and that mistake comes back to haunt his new young protegé Dre.
Dre walks into apartment thinking he was coming home to his girlfriend and his daughter. Instead he’s welcomed by a very healthy Kanan playing with his daughter who looks absolutely terrified and we don’t blame her.
Kanan expresses his disappointment in Dre for choosing to side with Ghost over him. He slowly starts to move towards the window holding Dre’s daughter and Dre is absolutely shook. Dre then breaks down and tells Kanan he’s been doing what he wanted and he’s positioned himself in an even better position with Ghost. Dre even points out that he was hanging out with Ghost’s son at the club.
Kanan buys what Dre is selling and tells him to be ready when he calls, before he leaves Kanan compliments Dre’s apartment and points out that he didn’t have shit at one point.
After her meeting with Ghost looks like Angela is going to try to help her man out.
She is the next person to meet with Ruiz alone to plant a different seed in his ear and change his thinking. Angela tells Ruiz that he should just focus on Lobos and no one else. She tells him that he still owes Ghost for saving his life and that his code prevents him from snitching on Ghost. Looks like her argument works cause it leaves Ruiz impressed with her pitch. But will he follow through and not snitch on Ghost and Tommy?
Speaking of Tommy we head back to his apartment and Holly is pressuring him more to kill Ghost more now that ever.
Holly is fed up that his mom is still there and Kate is pretty comfortable for the moment. She receives a text from the Jamaicans telling her that they are in position. Kate decides to tell the story about when Ghost beat up some neighborhood bullies harassing Tommy because he was the only white kid in the hood. You can see the story resonated with Tommy and it got him thinking about the past. Like all episode long there’s a loud knock on the door and Tommy goes to answer it gun drawn.
It’s Julio bearing some interesting news about the Koreans,Holly in the meantime sends the confirmation to the Jamaicans to take out Ghost. Julio tells Tommy about Dylan being shot dead, then he reveals that he was shot in front of the same church Tommy was at after his pick-up from the priest.Tommy asks Julio if there was any word on who took them out, Julio tells him no. Tommy was like:
Julio leaves, Tommy tells his mom it’s time for her to do the same.
Kate and Holly exchange their goodbyes and while they working out Kate whispers to Tommy that he should get rid of Holly.
Tommy of course doesn’t want to hear that from his mom and tells her to be nice. Before they walk out the door he asks her if she believed that story she told about Ghost and she tells him of course she does.
Back at the Federal Building Ruiz meets with the feds again to spill the beans.
Greg and Saxe think they’re about to get the whole syndicate and especially the real name of Ghost. Ruiz completely blindsided them and tells them he doesn’t know who Ghost is. Angela was like:
Looks like Angela came through for Ghost after all and stuck it to Greg in the process. Her boss not wanting to miss out landing anyone tells them just to get Lobos and move on.
Mike meets up with Lobos to deliver the good news to him that could help him be a free man again.
Mike tells Lobos to sign a federal agreement stating that he will get a reduced sentence in exchange for information on the Jemenez cartel. Lobos initially isn’t on board with the plan and yolks Mike up swiftly.
Mike then explains to Lobos if he signs it they would have to transfer Lobos and take him Teterboro airport. It’s up to Lobos if he makes it there or not giving the frisky drug lord an opportunity to escape federal custody. Lobos immediately likes the idea and even awkwardly flirts with Mike who wants nothing to do with any of that.

Tommy returns home with a revelation as to who tried to take him out.
Tommy tells Holly that it wasn’t Lobos that tried to kill him but it was the Koreans. Tommy is frantically searching for his phone but can’t find it. Holly on the other hand still isn’t trying to hear her boyfriend and tells him even though it wasn’t Lobos who tried to kill him that he still wants them dead if he doesn’t kill Ghost. Tommy knows that and now realizes he has to reach out to Ghost and warn him. Tommy decides he has to go find Ghost but Holly stops him telling him she doesn’t want anything to happen to him. Tommy looks at her like:
This is where this episode gets super intense now.
Ghost in the meantime is in good spirits again now that him and Riq are on good terms again.
The father son duo are on their way to the basketball game debating about music during the drive there. Their bonding sessions is quickly interrupted when Ghost feels some hit the back of his truck. He quickly gets out the car to investigate what happened.Oh shit we know what’s about to go down but poor Ghost doesn’t.
Back at the Egan residence Holly finally reveals to Tommy exactly what she has done.
Holly tells Tommy that they won’t have to worry about Lobos anymore after tonight. Tommy quickly responds with his signature “what did you do?” and Holly reveals to him that she took matters into her own hands since he was taking his sweet time to handle business.
Of course Tommy is absolutely livid at this point!
Holly finally reveals to Tommy that she hired the Jamaicans to kill Ghost. Tommy get’s even more pissed and decides he has to find Ghost but Holly tells him it’s too late.
We zap back to Ghost who learns that he’s been cornered by the Jamaicans.
They hop out the car assault rifles in hand ready to take out Ghost, meanwhile his son Riq is in the front seat. Ghost glances at his potential murderers before he turns to look at his son while two guns are drawn on him.
Back at Tommy’s house a full-blown argument has broken out between Tommy and Holly and things are starting to get physical.
Tommy is still in denial and can’t believe what Holly has just done. Holly still tries to convince Tommy that she had to do it but he doesn’t want to hear it. He tells her to get out of his apartment, Holly then decides to slap him for some strange reason.
Tommy immediately pushes Holly to floor after she slaps him, Holly quickly gets up and jumps right back in Tommy’s face.
Holly is absolutely disgusted that Tommy wants to kick her out and chose Ghost over her. She points out everything Ghost has ever done to Tommy and herself but it’s not working. Holly still tries to convince Tommy it’s just them and Ghost had to go but it’s just not getting through to Tommy. She finally touches a nerve when she says the relationship between Ghost and Tommy is just not normal. Tommy snaps and begins to strangle Holly but she manages to knee him in the groin and escape.
We zap back to Ghost and it’s not looking good for our favorite character at all.
Ghost stops looking at Riq and focuses back on his would be killers and it looks like he has come to terms with the fact he is about die.
Ghost takes a deep breath as he feels death starting to creep up on him. The suspense had me like:
As soon as it looks like the Jamaicans are about to pull the trigger, bullets from an unknown location take out the Jamaicans.
So who saved Ghost’s ass?
Dean comes out of nowhere with military precision and takes out the Jamaicans easily. Looks like he was worth every single penny Ghost spent on him. Visibly in shock at what just took place, Dean snaps Ghost out of the trance and tells him to leave and they will take care of it. Riq is still in the car and didn’t hear or notice a damn thing going on.
Those sleek headphones that good 50?
Ghost hops back in the car visibly shaken, he tells Riq he has to take to him home and Riq isn’t too happy hear that. Ghost doesn’t tell his son what happened but just informs him to put his seat belt on and don’t argue with him they got to get the hell out of dodge.
It’s still going down in Tommy’s house and Holly finally pushes the right button to send Tommy completely over the edge.
Holly makes the huge mistake of telling Tommy he doesn’t exist without Ghost and that was the final straw for him. He grabs Holly and begins to strangle every ounce of breath out of his pregnant girlfriend.
Holly this time can’t escape Tommy’s grasp she scratches his hands as his grip gets tighter and her breaths get shorter. Tommy doesn’t let up until she passes out, Tommy let’s go and Holly’s lifeless body falls to the ground.
Ladies and gentleman Holly is dead!
Now I know she is pregnant and that’s unfortunate BUT we all can agree Holly had to go!
Poor Tommy, he slowly calms down and comes back to his senses, he still was probably bit on edge from the booger sugar (cocaine) he did with his mom. He realizes he did something pretty awful, but in the end though Tommy it was for the greater good.
While Tommy holds his now dead girlfriends corpse, his phone rings.
It’s Lobos on the line informing him he’s going to need his help to spring him when they transport him. This will definitely come into play later on in the season.
Lobos’ inside guy Mike is feeling real good at the moment and Angela scores some more good news.
Angela learns from Mike that Lobos is being transferred and that he is snitching on the Jemenez cartel. Mike tells her this is a good thing since they will be putting away Lobos and landing a bigger fish. Of course we also know Mike is saving his own ass from having Lobos unleash Hugo on him and his family.
With that news Angela heads home to tell Ghost.
She finds Ghost sitting to himself still clearly shaken by the events that took place earlier in the night. Angela informs him that she took care Ruiz and that Lobos will no longer be a problem for him. Ghost has a look of complete admiration for Angela on his face as she did him a huge solid.
Angela is taken back by the look on Ghost’s face after she tells him what she did. She asks him has no one helped him before? He admits that no one has every helped him like that and as a reward he shows her the separation papers cause right now Angela is a real one. Angela is ecstatic and it looks like for the time being all is right in their world again.
We are going to assume they had an intense smash session Ghost decides to throw on the black hood and go check on his friend Tommy.
He breaks into Tommy’s apartment to and to his surprise he finds his friend in dire straights.
Tommy is still in shock and is sitting on the floor next to Holly’s corpse. Tommy looks up at Ghost and asks for help with the situation.
They wrap up Holly’s body and go dispose of it, after it’s all said and done the two finally decide it’s time to bury the hatchet.
Ghost confirms to Tommy that it was him that saved him from the Koreans that night. In return Tommy tells Ghost that Lobos wants both him and Ghost dead. Tommy also finds out that his nephew Riq was with Ghost when the hit went down. He tells Ghost that it was Holly who set up the hit and that’s why he killed her. It’s there they both decide that they have reunite to take out Lobos together. Tommy and Ghost ARE BACK!
