Kiotti And Art Acevedo Discuss Third Ward Violence + More [EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW]
A story that ripped through Third Ward last month was the shooting of Tristan Hutchins. The 8-year-old and his younger sister were sitting in their mother’s car when a shooter opened fire, striking the young boy and his sister. After a month long fight for his life, Tristan died at Memorial Hermann Hospital. His shooter has since been arrested and charged with capital murder.
Houston Police Chief Art Acevedo came to the Box Studios on the night Tristan lost his life and told the city that they would bring his killer to justice and that the violence, especially against young children in the city had to stop. In an exclusive interview, Acevedo and assistant chief Troy Finner discussed at length on the violence in Third Ward, how police brutality even within the Houston Police Department has led to indictments and more.
