Family Day in the Park is a signature and beloved annual outdoor event started by the late Honorable Sylvester Turner, and now proudly hosted by his daughter, Ashley Turner Captain. It is a long-standing tradition in the Acres Homes community, a historically under-resourced Complete Communities neighborhood in Northwest Houston. It provides a unique opportunity for residents, local businesses, and organizations to come together in a safe, inclusive, and vibrant environment that fosters unity, pride, and meaningful connections.
